Veterinarians

Dr. Joanne Hach, DVM
Hospital Director

Joanne Hach

Dr. Joanne Hach is the hospital director at Cats & Critters Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Hach has cared for patients at Cats & Critters since 2002.

A native of Randolph, NJ, Dr. Hach attended Bucknell University and received her Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry. Following her undergraduate studies, she completed a Master's Degree program in Biochemistry at the University of Pennsylvania. She went on to attend the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. Dr. Hach is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, New York State Veterinary Medical Society and the American Veterinary Medical Association

Dr. Hach works to incorporate gentle handling and quiet approach to help reduce patient stress in the exam room and during hospital visits. She has dedicated her time to developing interests and skills in feline medicine and dentistry. In addition, she has many years of medical and surgical experience with a range of small mammal species. Her focus is on client education and patient care to help improve and maintain patient quality of life from birth to young adult to senior years.

Dr. Hach shares her home with her husband, daughter and son. They enjoy spending time with their 2 cats , Pneuman and Cheddar, and 2 guinea pigs, Nutmeg and Pepper. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors hiking and gardening, enjoys reading and enjoys helping support her children’s sports teams.

Kerrie Sanders, DVM

Kerrie Sanders

Dr. Kerrie Sanders is an associate veterinarian at Cats & Critters. She joins our team after spending 10 years caring for cats at The Cat Doctors in Penfield, NY. Prior to that, Dr. Sanders earned her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Oklahoma State University where she was a member of Phi Zeta (Nu Chapter), the honor society that recognizes academic achievement and promotes scholarship and research, and was awarded the W.F. Dunaway Award based on character, scholastic ability and promise of future success. Before being accepted into veterinary school, Dr. Sanders earned a bachelor's degree in zoology from the University of Oklahoma.She has been working in the veterinary field in some capacity since 1998.

Dr. Sanders derives the most professional satisfaction from being an integral part of enriching thespecial relationship between people and their pets.  Clinically, she most enjoys internal medicine cases and dental surgeries. 

She is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Genesee Valley Veterinary Medical Association, the New York State Veterinary Medical Association, and Cornell Feline Health Center.

In her free time Dr. Sanders enjoys seeking endorphin release from riding roller coasters, hiking, reading, making soap and listening to live music.  Her three cherished cats (Mizzle, Rhinestone Cowboy, Cubby) and a very loyal Chihuahua (Josie) keep her quite busy.

Eileen R. Adamo, DVM

Eileen R.  Adamo

Dr. Eileen Adamo is a native Rochesterian who graduated from Bishop Kearney in 1989. She then completed her undergraduate biochemistry degree in 1993 and her veterinary degree in 1997, both at Cornell University. She has specialized in feline practice since graduation and loves seeing the unique relationships between her clients and their cats grow over the years.

Dr. Adamo founded The Cat Doctors in 2003, a feline-exclusive veterinary hospital in Penfield, NY.  After 15 years of operation, she decided to transition her hospital to join forces with the team at Cats & Critters and is looking forward to continuing her veterinary journey with the same high standard of compassionate and quality care in this new location.  

Outside of her life as a veterinarian, Dr. Adamo enjoys participating in her CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), volunteering for Re-Run shoes, challenging herself with Sudoku puzzles and engaging in the varied activities of her two very active teenage girls.  She and her husband share their life with an assortment of wonderful cats.

Gwen Rivers
Licensed Veterinary Technician Supervisor

Gwen Rivers

Gwen Rivers is a full-time veterinary technician at Cats & Critters. She was born in Waterville, Maine and raised in Belfast, Maine and Lake George. She has been working with animals for more than 20 years. Gwen achieved her associate's degree in veterinary technology from SUNY University at Delhi, as well as a certificate in small business management.

She says that her favorite part of work is seeing a variety of species and her relationship with her coworkers. Rivers owns a Rottweiler named Trinity and four cats. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, bass fishing, and hiking. She is happily married to her husband, Ken, with two daughters.

Shannon Pascale
Client Experience Supervisor

Shannon Pascale

Shannon Pascale is a full-time client experience supervisor at Cats & Critters. She was born and raised in Rochester, NY and has been working with animals since 2012.

She says that her favorite part of work is the clients she interacts with and their feline and exotic friends. Pascale owns a pitbull named Radar and a fish. In her free time, she enjoys reading, camping, cooking, and traveling. She also volunteers for Rescue Pit and Meals for Mutts, and dog-walks and pet-sits in her free time. She is happily married to her husband Andrew.

Ariel Franklin
Licensed Veterinary Technician

Ariel  Franklin

Ariel Franklin is a full-time licensed veterinary technician at Cats & Critters. Ariel was born in Springville, New York, and raised in Pike, New York. She has been working with Animals since she was 16 years old.

Ariel’s favorite part of working at Cats & Critters is the welcoming, peaceful atmosphere. She says that it is unlike any other hospital that she’s worked at, and that the patients and employees leave happy. Ariel has many pets including her Chihuahuas, Dibbs and Tuffy, Her ferrets, Smurf and Daphne, and her four cats, April, Whisky, Deuce, and Wednesday. She spends her free time hiking with her dogs and quilting.

Cyndi Guillaume
Licensed Veterinary Technician

Cyndi  Guillaume

Cyndi Guillaume is a full-time veterinary technician at Cats & Critters. She was born and raised in Webster, NY and has been working with animals for the majority of her life. Cyndi achieved an associate's degree veterinary technology from SUNY University at Delhi before earning her bachelor's degree in animal science from Cornell University.

She says that her favorite part of work is working with the cats and different exotic animals that they see. Cyndi owns two dogs, three cats and one rabbit. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and husband. She has three grown children and two grandchildren.

Carol Bartlett
Animal Care Assistant

Carol Bartlett

Carol Bartlett is a full-time animal care assistant at Cats & Critters. Carol was born in Maryland, and grew up in New Hampshire. She has been working with animals since September, 2017.

Carol’s favorite part of her job is the passion exuded by her co-workers towards their work, and the positive impact her job has on the lives of both her and animals. She owns three cats named Olivia, Michio, and Finn. In Carol’s free time she enjoys figure skating, drawing comics, and taking her cat, Finn, on walks.

Brandon Condello
Animal Care Assistant

Brandon Condello

Born in Rochester and raised in York, Brandon Condello is a Aniaml Care Assistant at Cats & Critters. He has been working in the animal-care industry since 2016. 

What he enjoys most about working at Cats & Critters is helping the animals and the positive environment within the hospital.

He has one dog named Sylvia and three cats named Henry, Dalia and Jazz. In his free time he enjoys playing games and reading.

Tim Febrey
Animal Care Assistant

Tim Febrey

Tim recently joined the Cats & Critters team as a part-time ACA. He previously spent five years working at The Cat Doctors, where he fell in love working with cats.

When he's not at work, he enjoys working in his garden, doing projects around the house, and spending time with furry and non-furry family members which includes his wife, Julie, five grown children and five grandchildren. Despite his affinity for felines, he also has two dogs name Roxie and Olive. His feline family includes Cabbot, Duncan, and Gidgit.

Cory Jedrewski
Animal Care Assistant

Cory Jedrewski

Cory Jedrewski is a full-time animal care assistant at Cats & Critters. She was born and raised in Rochester, NY and has been working with animals since 2012.

She says that her favorite part of work is working with her co-workers and a wide variety of small animals. Jedrewski owns a cat named Jack and a ferret named Topanga. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and going to concerts.

Samantha Black-Thornton
Client Service Representative

Samantha Black-Thornton

Borned and raised in Brockport, Samantha Black-Thornton is the newest addition to the Cats & Critters team. She is a Client Service Representative.

Samantha loves being able to see and pet adorable animals, but what she didn’t realize was how amazing it would be to be surrounded by others who love animals as much as she does. She says that there is a camaraderie among animal people that is incredibly special and she is grateful to be surrounded by it.

She has three cats - P.B. Fluff, Reginald and Eugene Purrman (who looks suspiciously like Reginald). In her free time, Samantha enjoys drawing, painting, playing video games, and practicing guitar. However, most of her time is taken up with loving her very needy fur babies and her husband, Ethan.

Kelly Wicks
Client Service Representative

Kelly Wicks

Kelly Wicks is a part-time client service representative at Cats & Critters. She was born and raised in Rochester, NY and has been working with animals for the past six years.

She says that her favorite part of work is being around cats and also seeing an assortment of other small creatures. Wicks owns two cats, Sinclair and Cedar. In her free time, she enjoys photography, gardening, and bird watching. She is happily married with two children.
